  1.                      Welcome to the Bright Ideas CD-ROM.

  3. If you have MS Windows v3.X then please load it now and DOUBLE-CLICK the  
  4. README.WRI file.  This MS Write file will give you instructions for using the
  5. CD-ROM.

  8. Not running Windows?  Although Windows is suggested it is not required for  
  9. using our images.  It is however required for the use of the fonts.

  12. CONTENTS:

  14. 80 Images in Both B&W and Color
  15. Bright Ideas images come in three formats:
  16. PCX, TIFF, and EPS.  These images have been grouped together for easy access,
  17. as you will see in the directory structure below.  Please make note of Bright
  18. Ideas magazine images marked with TIFF only. They will not have EPS copies.    
  19. This is only done with highly detailed images.

  22. Backgrounds (CD-ROM BONUS)
  23. A special bonus in each issue for CD-ROM subscribers only!  Ten really cool  
  24. backgrounds.  These backgrounds are pre-made for you in Photoshop.  Why take  
  25. the time to build new ones, when you will have a set of backgrounds at your  
  26. fingertips?  You friends will be impressed and your clients will thank you.  
  27. Note: Backgrounds with an L in the filename were saved in a lower resolution. 
  28. The H represents higher resolution.  If you are low on memory please use the 
  29. files marked with an L.

  31. Fonts
  32. 8 unique typefaces.  Bright Ideas fonts come in two formats:  Postscript Type  
  33. 1, and TrueType.  Please refer to the directory structure below for location. 
  34. Also note that #### is the font identification number that we have assigned  
  35. to a particular font.  Please refer to Bright Ideas magazine for the font and
  36. it's corresponding number.

  39. Image Index (CD-ROM BONUS)
  40. A list of images sorted by topic. You may import the catalog into any word
  41. processor and search by topic e.g. MAN -Child - girl.  You will find this
  42. ASCII formatted text file in the \INDEX directory.

  45. Multimedia with 6 Animations & 15 Musical Tracks
  46. They can be viewed using the Autodesk Animation Player (AAPLAY.EXE/DOS OR
  47. AAWIN.EXE/WINDOWS).  When you have loaded one of these programs pull down
  48. the FILE menu and select OPEN ANIMATION. Locate the ANIM subdirectory and
  49. pick an animation.  Online help is available.
  50.  
  51. The Musical Sound-Tracks are in MOD format.  We have provided a shareware  
  52. program for playing these files.  Using the MS File Manager (or any program  
  53. launcher) move to the MOD subdirectory and launch the WMP.EXE program.  Using  
  54. the FILE and OPEN option you will be able to select any of the 15 MODS to  
  55. queue for playing.

  58. Software Reviews (CD-ROM BONUS)
  59. From time to time we will provide you with evaluation copies of some of the  
  60. programs reviewed in Bright Ideas.  Look inside the REVIEWS directory for
  61. this free BONUS.

  63. 3D Models (CD-ROM BONUS)
  64. Five 3D models available as wire-frame files.  Each file is saved in DXF 
  65. format and can be imported into most 3D imaging programs.
